GENETRUST Spring Fling Online Embryo Auction
Hosted by BrangusAuctions.com
May 11, 2016
79 Embryos Average $724/Embryo
The second annual GENETRUST Spring Fling Embryo Auction was hosted online by BrangusAuctions.com and met with tremendous enthusiasm as breeders from across the world gathered online seeking embryos from some of the top females in the GENETRUST program. Donor dams who have produced and will continue to yield some of the breed leaders, including Coronado, Tribute, Trail Boss, Chairman and Main Event, made up the likes of this event and the quality of matings was met with great demand.
Highlighting this event was the Lot 2 set of embryos from Suhn’s Miss Patton 30X5, the female whose 10 progeny sold in 2015 averaged over $12,600/head, including the $25,000 Trail Boss. These 3 embryos sired by the $66,000 Foundation headed to Alabama at $1500/embryo to Johnston Brangus, Letohatchee, AL. Equally as intriguing was the next set of embryos to sell in Lot 3 from TJM Miss Abrams 59X7, sired by the hottest bull in the breed, TJM Three D 302A. These embryos were full sibs to the $50,000 ½ interest herd sire TJM Main Event 59C10, who highlighted the GENETRUST sale at Suhn’s in March where 6 full brothers to this lot averaged in excess of $14,000/head. Selected by long time Brangus enthusiast Wyliss Kemp, Pontotoc, MS, these embryos commanded a bid price of $1300/embryo for the package of 5 embryos.
With great demand seen throughout, 79 embryos in 17 lots averaged $724/ embryo with the price ranging from $500/embryo to the top of $1500/embryo. These genetic packages sold to buyers in six states plus Australia, with a tremendous amount of bidding interest throughout the country and abroad.
